FAQs

1. Will pigment hurt my scalp?

All pigment are safe and formulated specifically for skin, however, it is always best to have a test done to determine if there are any allergies or sensitivities to pigment.

2.What is Scalp Micro Pigmentation?

Scalp Micropigmentation, also known as SMP, is a camouflage treatment that can be a real alternative to hair grafts, hair systems, concealers, lotions and pills.

The charcoal black medical grade pigment is diluted to match the hair and skin tone and then dotted together using a special type of ultra-fine tattoo needle. This is a different skill from tattooing in that the pigment is placed slightly lighter in the dermis than a standard tattoo.

The non-surgical procedure is suitable for both men and women and replicates the hair follicles to give the illusion of thicker hair. This will therefore remove the focal point of the visible scalp or any thin areas you have. This treatment creates the illusion that the hair has been shaved and can be effective in disguising scars or making hair look thicker.

3. Is it the same as a Tattoo?

Scalp micropigmentation differs from regular tattoos in that the only similarity is the application of pigment to the skin. The needles, pigments and equipment used vary to create this realistic 3D appearance of hair growth.
